Cooperative Extension Announces June Better Living Workshops

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Cooperative Extension will hold Shortcut to Successful Cuttings and Garden Trash Into Garden Treasures, two in-person Better Living Series workshops, in June at the Cooperative Extension Auditorium, 301 E. Mountain Dr., Fayetteville.

Do you love to propagate plants by taking cuttings of your favorite flowers and shrubs? The workshop Shortcut to Successful Cuttings will be held June 21 at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Learn a simple, inexpensive way to greatly increase your rooted cutting success by building a propagation mist system. Participants will construct and take home a garden misting system.

The workshop Garden Trash Into Garden Treasures will be held June 28 at 10 a.m. Don’t throw away old garden tools. Instead, learn creative ways to recycle them in your garden. A tour of a local Master Gardener’s Garden will show how trash has been turned into treasure. Supplies will be provided to each participant to create their own garden hose wreath.
