FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Beginning June 1, 2025, and running through July 31, 2025, Cumberland County Public Library will host the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s theme, “Color Our World”, focuses on various types of art such as painting and photography. The annual Summer Reading Challenge encourages residents of all ages to read, learn and engage with their community.
Residents may obtain a reading log from any of the eight library locations. To participate online, readers may download the READsquared app at ccplnc.readsquared.com. Those who join the Summer Reading Challenge may read or attend library programs to unlock prizes.
Reading Prizes:
10 Hours of Reading:
- Children: Free book selected from a cart of options
- Teens: Free book from numerous selections
- Adults: $5 in Book Bucks for the Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library, Inc. book sale
20 Hours of Reading:
- Children: Push pop bubble flyer or a rubber duck with bathtub crayon set
- Teens: Color-changing tumbler
- Adults: Stainless-steel water bottle
- Every age level will be rewarded with a limited-edition prize while supplies
Prize Drawings:
Each library location will select three prize winners. There will also be three grand prize winners.
Every five extra hours of reading and every library location visited earns a bonus entry into the prize drawings.
