Volunteer at CCAS

Volunteer Program

The Animal Services Department has a volunteer program and encourages anyone interested in caring for our animals to apply. Volunteers will work in the adoption area of the shelter performing various tasks.

Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age

Ages 12-15 – May only become a volunteer when a parent or legal guardian is also a volunteer and accompanies them at all times. A minor release form must be signed.
Ages 16-17 – Must have a parent or legal guardian attend the walkthrough session with them, and minor release form must be signed, but may come alone to volunteer after that is completed.
Ages 18 and over are considered adult volunteers and must sign a release form and attend a walkthrough session.

Step 1: Watch the Volunteer Orientation

Step 2: Read the Volunteer Manual and then fill out the Volunteer Application, Volunteer Release Form and Minor Volunteer Release Form (if applicable).

Dog's Day Out Program

The Dog’s Day Out (DDO) program allows an approved member of the public to come and pick up a dog that meets the requirements for the program and take them off the property.

By taking them out for just a few hours a day, our dogs get the much needed exercise and mental stimulation of new experiences and people.

As a result of Dog’s Day Out, our dogs are less anxious and are able to meet potential adopters and we gain a wonderful insight on how they are outside of the shelter setting.

Must be 18 years or older to participate. Appointments for Dog's Day Out must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
