Multi-Modal Congestion Management Process Virtual Meetings Sept. 28

Sep 21, 2021, 13:40 PM by User Not Found

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO) is holding virtual public meetings Sept. 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for the multi-modal congestion management process. FAMPO is seeking public input for the transportation planning process and wants to hear from residents through the meetings and a short online survey.

The two scheduled congestion management meetings will present identical information at 12 and 6 p.m. and will include question and answer sessions after each presentation. During the Multi-modal Congestion Management Plan Process, input from area residents concerning traffic congestion will be extremely important as it will help to create the plan, which will be finalized in early summer of 2022.

The final plan will include recommendations to improve the flow of traffic in the Fayetteville area.  The Congestion Management Process is the term used nationally to describe an ongoing, systematic method of managing congestion that provides information about both system performance and potential alternatives for solving congestion related problems.

Any urbanized area with a population greater than 50,000 is designated as a Metropolitan Planning Organization. FAMPO was established in 1975 and covers portions of Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke and Robeson Counties.

For more information, go to congestionplan.com or fampo.org  or contact FAMPO Senior Transportation Planner Deloma Graham at delomagraham@co.cumberland.nc.us or 910-678-7628.
