FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Board of Elections members were sworn into new terms during the board’s regular meeting today at the Board of Elections office in the E. Newton Smith Center at 227 Fountainhead Lane.
Board members sworn in today are Irene Grimes (Chair), Linda Devore, Derek Edmonds and Billy R. King. James H. Baker was not in attendance and will be sworn in at a later time.
Edmonds replaced former Chair Helen Nelson as a Democrat member of the board. Following the swearing-in ceremony, the board moved unanimously to make Edmonds the secretary.
