The Cumberland County Board of Elections reminds citizens who want to vote in person on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, March 5, of the deadline to register to vote by Friday, Feb. 9.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Board of Elections reminds citizens who want to vote in person on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, March 5, of the deadline to register to vote by Friday, Feb. 9. Individuals who miss the Feb. 9 deadline may still register and vote during the in-person Early Voting period, which runs Feb. 15 – March 2 at any Early Voting site in Cumberland County.
Citizens who register to vote during the Early Voting period must attest to their eligibility and provide proof of where they live, in addition to showing an acceptable form of photo ID. For more information, click Register in Person During Early Voting.
Early Voting locations for the March 5 Primary:
*No Early Voting will be held Feb. 24 – 25 (Saturday, Sunday)
Voter ID Requirements
Starting in elections in 2023, all North Carolina voters are required to show photo identification in order to vote. Many forms of ID are already accepted in order to vote including:
- North Carolina driver’s license
- State ID from the NCDMV (also called non-operator ID)
- Driver license or non-driver license from another state, District of Columbia, or U.S. territory (only if voter registered in North Carolina within 90 days of the election)
- U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport card
- Voter ID card issued by a County Board of Elections
- College or university student ID approved by the State Board of Elections
- State or local government or charter school employee ID approved by the State Board of Elections
