The Cumberland County Department of Public Health can help your family prepare now for back-to-school. State law requires any child entering a North Carolina school system for the first time, whether they are entering kindergarten or recently moved to North Carolina, to have a physical and be up to date on all required vaccinations.
The Child Health Clinic provides kindergarten and school physicals, along with head start, sports and camp physicals. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To make an appointment, call 910-433-3600.
The Immunization Clinic provides all required vaccines for North Carolina children including:
- Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis
- Polio
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Pneumococcal
- Meningococcal
Other age-appropriate recommended vaccinations are also available at the Immunization Clinic. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours until 7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Walk-ins are welcome but should arrive at least 30 minutes before closing to ensure they are seen within business hours.
The Child Health and Immunization Clinics are located at the Public Health Center, 1235 Ramsey St.
