$100 Prepaid Cards for First-time COVID-19 Vaccination

Nov 17, 2021

The Cumberland County Department of Public Health has been selected to participate in the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services program to distribute $100 prepaid cards for those who are 18 years and older and are receiving their first dose of Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

Although cards are available to all adults, there will be a special focus on Family Planning Medicaid beneficiaries. Vaccination rates are particularly low among the Family Planning Medicaid population.

“Keep your family safe for the holidays and get vaccinated TODAY! First dose recipients can get $100 in prepaid cards for their holiday shopping,” said Dr. Jennifer Green, Cumberland County Public Health Director. “Our hope is that this will encourage our community to come out and get vaccinated.”

In accordance with federal guidelines, children under age 18 and those receiving a second dose or booster dose are not eligible to receive the cards. Visit cumberlandcountync.gov/covid19/vaccination or call 910-433-7657 for more information.

Individuals who need transportation to and from the vaccination site can call 910-678-7619 weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for assistance or 910-483-6869 ext. 1017 to arrange a ride through HealthNet.
