FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Department of Public Health at 1235 Ramsey will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 3, due to continued repairs to the air conditioning system. County Facilities and Maintenance crews are working to install an emergency chiller that will allow the facility to reopen. Information regarding Health Department operations for Thursday, Aug. 4 will be provided by Wednesday afternoon.
COVID-19 testing will remain available in the Health Department parking lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments for monkeypox vaccinations and testing will be rescheduled.
This closure does not affect WIC offices in Spring Lake and Hope Mills and the Environmental Health offices at the Historic Courthouse on Gillespie Street.
The Health Department will remain closed as a cooling center for the remainder of the week. The Department of Social Services, located at 1225 Ramsey St., has opened the auxiliary lobby as a cooling station. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
