FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Employee Wellness Fair will happen Oct. 17 – 24 at the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville. Health and wellness related vendors are invited to participate in the Wellness Fair Oct. 17-21 at the Crown Expo Center, 301 East Mountain Drive. Historically, 275 county employees will visit the fair each day.
Hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 19; and 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 18, 20 and 21.
October 7 is the vendor registration deadline. Tables will be provided and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Cumberland County Wellness Services Director Tammy Gillis at 910-678-7728 or tgillis@co.cumberland.nc.us to register.
Vendors are invited to participate and provide employees with information on health and wellness related topics such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, weight management, hearing, vision, tobacco cessation, physical activity, nutrition, stress management, behavioral health, safety and more. The goal of the health fair is to encourage county employees to lead a healthier lifestyle and improve their overall health status.
Cumberland County has contracted with Proactive MD to run its Employee Wellness Clinic. During the annual wellness fair, Proactive MD will screen employees for risk factors such as high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes.
Local health and wellness agencies are encouraged to support this event by sending a representative to discuss the services they provide, including information about costs and any discounts available to the general public.
