FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The following is a summary of the Jan. 10, 2023, Cumberland County Board of Commissioners Agenda Session, which was held at 1 p.m. in Room 564 of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse.
County staff presented Commissioners with status updates on major projects the County Manager’s Office is actively managing and realistic expectations for what can be accomplished in the next 90 days, coinciding with the start of a new County Manager on March 1.
Staff presented status updates on the following projects:
- Preliminary FY 2022 Fund Balances
- Classification and Compensation
- Water Supply Development
- Solid Waste Disposal Options
- Crown Event Center
- Homeless Shelter
- ARP & Broadband
- Sales Tax Distribution Method
- General Fund Major Revenue Update
- Debt Models
- Governmental Service Complex
- Rhodes Pond
- Internal Priorities
Following the presentation, staff responded to questions from Commissioners and the Board confirmed the projects as those they want staff to continue focusing on over the next 90 days.
Agenda sessions are held once a month and provide an opportunity for the Board of Commissioners to discuss potential agenda topics for Regular Board of Commissioners’ meetings. Tuesday’s meeting was unique in that the sole item of business was the 90-Day Priority Session.
