Cooperative Extension Accepting 2023 Agricultural Hall of Fame Nominations

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Cooperative Extension is accepting nominations of candidates for induction into the Cumberland County Agricultural Hall of Fame for 2023.

The Cumberland County Agricultural Hall of Fame honors county residents who have made significant contributions to agriculture, home economics, youth development or rural communities. Membership in the Hall of Fame has been awarded to individuals annually since 1989. The Agricultural Hall of Fame is in the auditorium at Cumberland County Cooperative Extension, located in the Charlie Rose Agri-Expo Center, 301 E. Mountain Drive, Fayetteville, N.C.

Nomination should be submitted on a nomination form, which is available on the Cooperative Extension website at cumberland.ces.ncsu.edu or by calling 910-321-6405. Completed nomination forms with supporting documentation, not to exceed five pages, must be received by June 30, 2023, at 5 p.m. Late submissions will not be considered. Mail nominations to Cumberland County Cooperative Extension, Charlie Rose Agri-Expo Center, 301 East Mountain Drive, Fayetteville, N.C. 28306. Nomination forms may be faxed to 910-321-6883 or emailed to Cooperative Extension Director Lisa Childers at lisa_childers@ncsu.edu.

The nominating committee will review all candidates and select a nominee to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners for consideration and selection into the Hall of Fame. The recipient will be honored in November during the annual Farm-City Week Celebration event in the fall.
