Celebrate National Library Week April 23 - 29

Apr 21, 2023

FAYETTEVILLE N.C. – The Cumberland County Public Library invites the community to visit the library during National Library Week April 23 – 29.

Libraries contain a wealth of stories, from picture books and large print to audiobooks and ebooks, and much more.

Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education and connection through book clubs, story times, movie nights, crafting classes, lectures and more. The Cumberland County Library offers a wide array of programs, classes and resources, including language learning software and databases for assistance with genealogy, purchase decisions and vehicle repair.

Libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills and support for job seekers, small businesses and entrepreneurs. The library also supports the residents of Cumberland County by lending Wi-Fi hotspots, offering free meeting spaces and providing databases for business and investment research.

Stop by any of the eight library branches during National Library Week, or any time of year. For more information, visit cumberlandcountync.gov/library and follow the hashtag #NationalLibraryWeek to join the online celebration.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national celebration of libraries of all types across the country each April. For more information on library resources or to view scheduled in-person or virtual programming, visit the Library’s Facebook  page or cumberlandcountync.gov/library.
