FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – White Flag shelter locations will be open tonight for residents who need a place to escape freezing temperatures overnight. The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures at or below freezing with the wind chill factor tonight and during the early morning hours of Thursday, Nov. 30.
The Salvation Army of the Sandhills Region will open a White Flag shelter overnight tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 29. The Salvation Army shelter is located at 245 Alexander St., Fayetteville. Intake will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., following dinner. The shelter will be open from 6:30 p.m. until 7 a.m. tomorrow. The shelter is available to single men, women and families. True Vine Ministries will open a White Flag shelter overnight tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. Wednesday. The True Vine shelter, known as the “J Center,” is located at 5315 Morganton Rd., Fayetteville. Transportation will be provided to the shelter from the Cumberland County Headquarters Library at 300 Maiden Lane, Fayetteville, between 5:45 and 7:30 p.m. Transportation will be provided back to Headquarters Library Wednesday morning between 7 and 8:45 a.m. For more information about the True Vine Shelter, go to truevinenc.com/white-flag-shelter.
