Cumberland County’s East Regional Library Celebrates 25 Years Serving the Community
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Public Library, East Regional branch (ERL), is celebrating 25 years enriching the community through knowledge, connection and service. The public is invited to an anniversary celebration today, Feb. 13, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at East Regional Library, 4809 Clinton Road in Fayetteville. Guests will enjoy an array of delectable refreshments, design their own buttons and add a short message to a time capsule that will be opened at the 40th anniversary celebration in 2039.
The Cumberland County Library’s East Regional branch opened to the public on Feb. 13, 1999, replacing the East Fayetteville and Stedman branches. The branch has been recognized with statewide accolades including the North Carolina Public Library Director’s Association “Outstanding New Facility” award.
Throughout the past 25 years, the East Regional branch has welcomed updates such as new flooring and a popular Teen Space which houses a variety of video game systems, traditional board games and tables with dry erase tops. The branch looks forward to many more updates coming soon.
