FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Department of Social Services’ (DSS) Care Center Family Violence Program received a $15,600 grant from the Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc., Women’s Giving Circle of Cumberland County, a fund of Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc., on May 28, 2025, at Fayetteville State University’s Seabrook Auditorium.
Since its establishment in 2008, the Women’s Giving Circle of Cumberland County, a fund of Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc., has awarded more than $821,000 in grants to promote philanthropy among women, engage individuals across generations, and encourage intentional charitable giving. The Women’s Giving Circle of Cumberland County awards high-impact grants to projects that focus on women and children throughout the county.
With this grant, the Care Center Family Violence Program aims to continue its efforts to provide a safe haven for individuals who have suffered domestic violence and to support those seeking resources such as shelter operations through DSS.
