FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners held its first Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Work Session on Thursday, May 29, to begin in-depth discussions on the proposed county budget.
Residents are encouraged to follow the budget process and participate in shaping the County’s financial priorities.

Budget Work Session & Public Hearing Schedule
All meetings will be held at the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, 117 Dick St., Fayetteville.
- Thursday, June 5 at 7 p.m. – Budget Public Hearing/Budget Work Session (Room 118)
- Tuesday, June 10 at 5:30 p.m. – Budget Work Session (Room 564)
- Thursday, June 12 at 5:30 p.m. – Budget Work Session (Room 564)
- Thursday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m. – Budget Work Session (if needed) (Room 564)
After each work session, residents can visit cumberlandcountync.gov/budget to learn more about the questions raised and topics discussed.
Public Hearing
The Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed FY2026 budget on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 7 p.m. Residents who wish to speak during the public hearing must sign up before the meeting begins. A sign-up sheet will be available in the meeting room. Alternatively, residents may:
