Join Cooperative Extension Better Living Series ‘Bees Are Amazing’

Join Cooperative Extension's February Better Living Series workshops "Bees Are Amazing." Learn about honeybees, cooking with honey and candle making with beeswax.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Cooperative Extension announces the return of the popular Better Living Series for 2023 with “Bees Are Amazing” in February. The workshops will be held at the Cooperative Extension Auditorium, located at 301 E. Mountain Dr., Fayetteville.

The Fascinating World of Honeybees will be held Feb. 8 from 12 – 2 p.m. The workshop will cover the basics of beekeeping and how to get started in this fun pastime that provides numerous benefits. Cooking with Honey will be held Feb. 15 from 12 – 2 p.m. Honey is a natural food that can be used in many different dishes. During this class, honey will be used to prepare a two-course meal. Registration and the $12 fee are due by Feb. 10. Class size is limited, so register early. Go to

Minding Your Beeswax will be held Feb. 22 from 12 – 2 p.m. This hands-on workshop will teach participants how to make a variety of beautiful all-natural candles from beeswax. Beeswax has been used for centuries to make candles for the home. Registration and the $12 fee are due by Feb. 17.
