FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County residents are invited to help “fill the truck” Saturday by donating food and other items to help Cumberland County students who need assistance over the summer months.
Cumberland County Government will set up a box truck in the parking lot in front of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse at 117 Dick Street, Fayetteville, Saturday, May 13 from 8 a.m. until noon to collect donations of food from the public to donate to food pantries at Cumberland County Schools to serve students over the summer.
The County is seeking donations of non-perishable food items, particularly of kid-friendly items like snacks and microwavable items. Non-perishable items in cans, plastic jars, boxes and sturdy bags will also be accepted. In addition to food, the County will also be collecting personal hygiene items, diapers and other items that may be needed by students and those with families. Please do not donate items in glass containers.
The collected items will be sorted and delivered to donation points prior to the last day of school, May 26.
