Horses Removed from Farm Due to Concerns of Mistreatment

Officers with Cumberland County Animal Services have removed one adult horse and four juvenile horses from a property in the 4800 block of Enniskillen Road, Fayetteville as part of an investigation into evidence of mistreatment.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Officers with Cumberland County Animal Services have removed one adult horse and four juvenile horses from a property in the 4800 block of Enniskillen Road, Fayetteville this morning as part of an investigation into evidence of mistreatment. The horses are currently being evaluated by an equine veterinarian.

An investigation into the situation is ongoing in conjunction with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Any resulting criminal charges would be handled by the Sheriff’s Office. Animal Services will not be able to release any additional information on this case while it is an active investigation.
