FAYETTEVILLE – Cumberland County Tax Administration reminds citizens that the listing period for all residents and non-residents who own taxable property in Cumberland County is Jan. 1 – 31, 2024. Listing forms must be updated, signed and returned and must be postmarked no later than Jan. 31 to avoid the 10% late listing penalty.
Listingformsmaybe downloaded by going online tocumberlandcountync.gov, and clicking on the Tax button and then clicking on the Forms & Publications tab. Listing forms may also be obtained inpersonattheTaxAdministrationOffice locatedonthe5thfloorofthe Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse,117DickSt., Fayetteville. Tax Administration, as well as all other Cumberland County Government offices, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day.
Mail listing forms to Cumberland County Tax Administration, P.O.Box 449, Fayetteville, NC 28302 or bring forms in person to Room 530 on the 5th floor of the Courthouse. Tax Administration is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Another contactless option for submitting tax listings and forms is the secure drop box beside the U.S. Postal Service mailboxes in the rear parking lot of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse facing Cool Spring and Russell streets.
Taxable property includes business and income producing property, personal property, agri-business/farm income producing property and improvements to owned real estate property.
Active duty, non-resident military may be exempt from taxation on personal property only. Remit a current, end of month LES (Leave and Earning Statement) with your listing.
