FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Emergency Services is issuing an urgent alert for Rayconda Dam area residents due to a dam breach. The Emergency Services Department is working to notify residents in the Rayconda Dam area.
Residents impacted by the breach should:
- Watch downstream water levels.
- Evacuate their residence if impacted.
- Avoid traveling through flooded areas.
- Stay tuned to local news and official channels for updates.

Additionally, the Mac Williams Middle School shelter will be closing immediately due to no attendance.
