Cumberland County Monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa

Cumberland County Emergency Management is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa and encourages residents to start preparing for the storm now.

According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts up to 30 mph on Thursday and localized flash flooding Wednesday night and Thursday night are possible. The highest rainfall amounts and greatest risk for flash flooding will be along the I-95 corridor.

Plan – Discuss with your family what to do before, during and after an emergency. The more prepared you are, the better you will be.

Prepare – Make an emergency supply kit before a disaster with basic items your family may need in or after an emergency. Be sure everyone knows where the kit is located. Visit ready.gov/kit for more information.
