Tax Bills to be Mailed Sept. 10, Payment Options Available

Sep 09, 2021

Cumberland County Tax Administration will mail tax bills to property owners on Sept. 10. The deadline to pay 2021 property taxes is Jan. 5, 2022. After Jan. 5, unpaid tax bills will begin to incur a 2% interest charge the first month and 0.75% interest charge each month thereafter, beginning Feb. 1.

Taxpayers may pay their tax bills online, by mail, by phone or in person. Go to cumberlandcountync.gov/departments/tax-group/tax to pay online with an electronic check, debit card or major credit card. A credit or debit card convenience fee is charged. There is no fee for electronic check.

To pay by phone, call 1-866-441-6614. Phone payments must be made with a major credit card or debit card. A credit or debit card convenience fee is charged.

Taxpayers can set up an online bill pay option with their financial institution. It is important for taxpayers using this option to verify and update the tax bill number on file with their bank, as it can change annually.

We now have another contactless option for making check or money order tax payments and for submitting tax listings and forms. We have placed a new secure drop box beside the mailboxes outside the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse back parking lot of Cool Spring and Russell Streets. Please do not place CASH payments in the drop box! Checks and money orders only.
