Cumberland County Offices Closing Today at 1 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Government Offices and the Court System will close early today at 1 p.m. due to the forecasted severe weather expected to pass through the area this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Services is forecasting a band of severe thunderstorms with strong winds, rain and possible tornadoes passing through Cumberland County and the surrounding area Tuesday afternoon into the evening.

In addition to County offices closing early, the Cumberland County Board of Elections has canceled their meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. today.

Cumberland County Emergency Services encourages residents to stay safe and informed during the storm. The County will share relevant updates related to the storm through Cumberland Alerts, as well as on the County website and through County social media pages.

Cumberland Alerts is a free alert system that allows residents to receive critical information related to incidents such as severe weather, evacuations, protective actions and more. Notifications can be sent to your home, mobile or business phone, email and by text messages.
