White Flag Shelter Open Tonight Due to Freezing Temperatures

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The National Weather Service is reporting freezing temperatures overnight Monday, Feb. 19. Cumberland County Government wishes to share the following White Flag shelter information for residents who need a place to escape freezing temperatures.

True Vine Ministries will not open a White Flag shelter on Monday, Feb. 19, due to facility issues.

The Salvation Army of the Sandhills Region, located at 245 Alexander St., Fayetteville, will open a White Flag Shelter overnight on Monday, Feb. 19. Intake will follow dinner between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The White Flag Shelter will operate from 6:30 p.m. until 7 a.m. The shelter is available to single men, women, and families. Cumberland County Emergency Services is closely monitoring weather conditions and is coordinating with Cumberland County Community Development and community partners as they make White Flag shelter determinations and preparations. Updates will be provided via press release and social media.
