Feb 27, 2024

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Acclaimed family history author Adele Myers will be at the Cumberland County Headquarters Library Sunday, March 3, at 3 p.m. to share the captivating story of her debut novel The Tobacco Wives. The event will take place in the Pate Room of Headquarters Library, located at 300 Maiden Lane in Fayetteville.

In The Tobacco Wives, Myers offers a hidden story of women’s post-war activism in North Carolina. Drawing from her family history, Myers sheds light on the inspiration behind her compelling narrative, which offers a feminist perspective on one of the largest corporate frauds of the 20th century.

Myers will talk about her journey from advertising executive to full-time novelist and college professor as she shares insights into her publishing experience and the evolution of her writing career.

Following the presentation will be a book signing with copies of The Tobacco Wives available for purchase.

“We are thrilled to host Adele Myers at Cumberland County Public Library for this special event,” said Cumberland County Public Library Director Faith Phillips. “Adele’s debut novel is a powerful and timely story and we are excited for our community to hear her insights and learn about her writing journey.”

No registration is required for this event, which is free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library, Inc.
