The Cumberland County Department of Public Health will host the second annual “Fun in the Sun with Public Health” fair on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Health Center.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Cumberland County Department of Public Health will host the second annual “Fun in the Sun with Public Health” fair on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Health Center parking lot at 1235 Ramsey St., Fayetteville.
This free event brings together Public Health Department clinics, County departments and community organizations to share information about health, safety and wellness with community members. Goshen Medical Center will offer free sports physicals and cardiac screenings with a mobile clinic.
In addition to healthcare agencies and providers, this free family-friendly event will feature vendor booths, food trucks, displays, games, giveaways and free popcorn. Participants will have the opportunity to see Cumberland County Public Health programs and services inside the lobby of the Public Health Center.
“This event will promote positive physical activity for youth through outdoor physical activity that builds strong bones and muscles, controls weight and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression,” said Public Health Director Dr. Jennifer Green.
Featured Fun in the Sun participants include the Cumberland County Department of Social Services, Cumberland County Schools, Alliance Health, Fayetteville Fire Department and more.
